#HONEYMOON

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes a beautiful HONEYMOON!

My husband and I have not travelled much, although we both have a strong desire to do so. When planning our honeymoon, we looked for something tropical and affordable. This proved to be quite a challenge as December forms part of the peak season in most places.

We were finally left with two possible destinations; Mauritius or Zanzibar.

Something about Preskil Resort just lured us in and before we knew it, we were on a plane trip to the beautiful Mauritius island.

In hindsight, the only thing I regret was going so soon after our wedding. It took us a while to come down from the wedding hype. Sharing a room for the first time, going on an overseas trip together and being a newly married couple, all in a few hours, proved to be quite overwhelming.

The crystal clear sea, soft white sand, and delicious coconut ice cream all made up for it though.

In December, the island's weather is usually quite temperamental. It is monsoon season after all! However, we were blessed with 7 gorgeous days of sunshine! How lucky were we? We took full advantage of this and spent our days in the sparkling pools overlooking the ocean, paddling out to a small starfish island, eating lobster on the beach and snorkeling, something my hubby wasn't too fond of. Every evening we were entertained with local dancers and singers and we were gifted a couple's cooking class and full body massage.

We were so blessed to have experienced this magnificent place together, and we made memorable moments throughout our stay.

Take us back to this beautiful island! Oh Mauritius!
