HAS A NICE RING TO IT

Augusto and I met in the Autumn of 2011.

Descending from Portuguese and Lebanese families respectively, meant that our courtship was quite conservative but oh so colourful. I always knew that he was the man that I would say 'I Do' to, but he made me wait five and a half long years! (I guess a diamond this beautiful is worth the hard work!)

He decided to 'pop the question' at Pont de Val, a French inspired countryside restaurant and vineyard, set on the banks of the Vaal River, just outside of Johannesburg. We indulged in French cuisine, and while watching the sunset on a large riverside swing, he asked me to marry him.

I'm quite difficult to surprise, which is fine by me because I don't enjoy feeling unprepared, but I didn't see it coming. Especially because I made the booking at the restaurant, and picked him up in my car! (Sneaky moves on his part)

The drive back to Johannesburg allowed us to really revel in the excitement, and pleasure of the life changing event that occurred. And on our return, we continued the celebration with those nearest and dearest to us.

I couldn't have imagined a more perfect day. Intimate, sincere and filled with love. Mrs dos Santos has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
